Thanksgiving Celebration in Pecel

We had a great time with the students in Pecel as we shared all about the American holiday of Thanksgiving. More than 20 students came! We gave them a brief history of the holiday, shared the top five thanksgiving traditions and watched the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Special. It was interesting to hear them talk about the concept of everyone sharing what they are thankful for, as that is not at all common in this society.

The students were brave and tried a number of foods that they had never eaten before, like sweet potato casserole, pumpkin pie and maple cheesecake.

Best of all several students stayed for a long time after the party just to talk! A number of them showed interest in coming to camp this summer. Please continue to pray that God will do a work in the lives of these students! Also pray for the Thanksgiving celebration that we will be having in Petofibanya on Monday!
